【呼吸する糸】

どこまでかという問題はありますが、天然素材を主にした寝具にチャレンジしてみたい。
チャレンジと言わずともやればいいという話ですが、当然人が毎日寝て気持ちよく、メンテナンスもでき、長く使える。そういったバランスの良い寝具を扱っていきたい。一番大事なことは使っていただく方の環境や目的に合わせた素材の選択です。天然素材には大きく分けて植物性・動物性があります。植物性の代表は綿や麻。もう一つはウール・シルクなどの動物性です。それぞれの素材・繊維には元々の特性や効果が異なっており、使用する方に合わせた素材・製造方法など違いの提案も出来る寝具屋でありたいと思っています。毎日のように触れる人の肌も天然素材。大事にしたいテーマの一つです。

【白】

寝具のバイヤーになった時、すぐに感じたのはこんな事でした。
「無地の布団はないのか」
どのメーカーに聞いても柄物で無くては売れないと言われました。色々と見て回った結果、それが本当のことなのだと知りました。世の中に流通する布団のほとんどが柄入りだったのです。この柄問題で特に厄介なのは白や生成りの無地カバーを被せてしまうと中の柄が透けてしまい寝室内の調和を損ねてしまうことでした。決して柄ものが嫌いという訳ではなく、売れないから作らないという生産側の勝手な意見を消費者に押しつけてしまう現状に疑問を抱いたのです。気持ちよさや暖かさだけでなく、空間のバランスを保つ家具の一部としての寝具も必要だと考えています。そこで店舗で販売する際の寝具は主に無地で作ることに決めていたのです。アトマダ寝具店の寝具はそういった思いから無地ものが多くなります。白や生成りのカバーが掛かっているシンプルな部屋に憧れがあるからかも知れません。

まくら、敷き布団、マットレス、羽毛布団、カバー・シーツの全てにおいてオーダーメイドにするシステムを考えています。協力いただける皆さまにはご迷惑をお掛けすることも出てくるとは思いますが、布団屋をやる以上、これで無ければ意味が無いと考えています。元より布団屋は受注生産が基本だったのでこれが普通なんだと思っています。寝具に関してはお持ち帰り出来るものが少ないので、ほとんどの商品で即日にお渡しができません。その代わりに商品に関わる全ての方において納得できるものを提供していこうと思います。
